*Why can be answered with WHY?

*Why did Jesus die?

*Why did Jesus suffer?

*Why did Jesus raise from the dead?

# Because God loves the WORLD.

# Because God loves our HOME.

#  Because God loves YOU.

* “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (Jn 3:16)”.

* “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution or famine, or nakedness or peril, or sword? (Romans 8:35)”.

* “We love him, because he first loved us (1 Jn 4:19)”.

* “His death on the cross has won victory and pardon for us, and peace with God. Through Jesus’ sacrifice we are not only forgiven and reconciled with god- we become the adopted sons and daughters of god”(Romans 8:14-16)”.

* “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God ,who loved me and gave himself up for me”(Galatians 2:20)”.

THE CROSS OF JESUS

  1. When we look at the cross; we don’t see a defeated Jesus, rather we see Jesus who defeated sin, Satan, selfishness and death.
  2. When we look at the cross; we don’t see a mission incomplete Jesus, rather we see Jesus who accomplished the mission of his father.
  3. When we look at the cross; we don’t see an abandoned Jesus, rather we see Jesus one with human suffering.
  4. When we look at the cross; we don’t see a shame rather we see Jesus’ victory.
  5. When we look at the cross; we don’t see foolishness of Jesus rather faithfulness of Jesus.
  6. When we look at the cross; we see ourselves crucified with Jesus and Jesus crucified with us.
  7. When we look at the cross, we see the MERCY of Jesus
  8. When we look at the cross, we see the LOVE of Jesus.

GOD DID ALL THIS FOR US. HE DID ALL THIS BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE FOR US.

Paul writes, “God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! … We were God’s enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son.” (Romans 5:8,10). That’s how much God loves us – Jesus died for us even though we don’t deserve it. His death has made us God’s friends.

Jesus’ announcement, “It is finished” is clear and simple. Jesus has completed his task. The reason why he came as a human has been fulfilled. He came so that you and I can have forgiveness and salvation. He came to give us the victory. He came to ensure that we would enter his kingdom and live forever. Amen.
